Sevilla head coach, Javier Pimienta praised Kelechi Iheanacho for his performance in the team's 2-1 loss to Villarreal on Friday night.

Despite the Nigerian forward playing only 13 minutes on his debut the forward had an impressive showing.

Iheanacho replaced Isaac Romero late in the game and quickly made an impact, coming close to scoring with a clear chance that was saved by Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Conde.

"Perhaps he (Iheanacho) was the one who had the most problems because he played less time, but he moved very well in that difficult moment of the match and he had a very clear chance to score and the goalkeeper was able to stop that play," Pimienta said, as quoted by Futbal Fantasy.

Iheanacho's compatriot, Chidera Ejuke, also featured in the game.

The 27-year-old's promising debut will likely boost his chances of more playing time in future matches.
