Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) striker Yusuf Abdulazeez has joined Swedish side, Mjällby FC.

 

Abdulazeez moved from Gombe United on "an agreed fee with the club" after completing his medicals.

 

The 20-year-old signed his contract and was unveiled on Monday by the

 

"The transfer was completed on August 11, the same day the transfer window closed. Due to paperwork with work permits and residence permit cards, it took until this weekend before Yusuf could connect to Sweden. Yusuf is ready to play and available for selection already for the match against GIF Sundsvall on Sunday." A statement on the club's website read.

The striker joined on a three year deal after his time at Gombe Utd where he scored 16 goals; more than half of the Savannah Scorpions goals and assisted two times.

 

"Yusuf is a player we've had our eye on for a long time. It is an interesting striker with strengths in his speed, strength and finishing. Yusuf has impressive numbers and statistics from Nigeria despite his young age. This is a player we hope can make a difference both in the short and long term, comments sporting director Hasse Larsson.

 

He becomes second Gombe United player to move in the space of a week after Innocent Christian's transfer to Keciorengucu in Turrkey.
