League One club Derby County announced today that German-Nigerian midfielder Osazee Aghatise has signed a new deal with the Rams.

Born in Germany, Aghatise moved to England at the age of seven and first represented Manchester United before signing another schoolboy contract with city rivals Manchester City.

He later joined Stoke City and then Derby County in the summer of 2019 as a first year scholar.

The 19-year-old made his professional debut for the Rams in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup against Chorley in January 2021 and his Championship debut versus Millwall ten months later.

Last season, he recorded 23 appearances in the Premier League 2, scoring five goals and is credited with 36 appearances for Derby County U18s in the league and FA Youth Cup, netting eight times.

Meanwhile, another former Manchester United schoolboy of Nigerian descent, Olamide Ibrahim has been promoted to Derby County's development squad ahead of the 2022-2023 campaign.

The 18-year-old central midfielder made his senior debut against Chorley in January 2021 and has totaled 13 career appearances in the Premier League 2.
