Ghanaian forward Yahaya Mohammed has mutually terminated his contract with Libyan club Al Ittihad just months after forcing his way out of Asante Kotoko.

The 27-year-old has already returned to Ghana following the abrogation of the reported two-year deal.

Reasons for the termination has not been revealed but the Tripoli club claim they’ve reached an amicable settlement in sending off the ex Tema Youth youngster.

Ittihad signed Mohammed principally to help them progress in the CAF Champions League.

And early elimination at the hands of Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas however saw a significant drop in the then intense interest in the Ghanaian.

The termination of Yahaya Mohammed’s contract now makes him a free agent – meaning he is eligible to join any club of his choice including Ghanaian clubs pending ratification from the Ghana FA.
