WSL: Toni Payne's Everton fall to table toppers in nervy Kingsmeadow clash
Two losses in a month, Toni Payne was in action as Everton Women fell to another loss to Chelsea this time with a very minimal score-line in the Women Super League clash at Kingsmeadow, falling to a last gasp James goal to seal all maximum points for the record champions, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
It will be worthwhile to know that the Super Falcons midfielder was part of the team that fell to a 4-1 defeat against the high flying London club who are still yet unbeaten this season as they were also eliminated from the FA Cup earlier this month.
It looked like Brian Sorensen's side will snatch a point off Sonia Bompastor's ladies with the score even in the 90+2 minute (1-1) but Lauren James delivered a hard punch in the 93rd minute, drilling home a second for the Blues to send the home fans into frenzy with Everton players seen holding their hands on their heads when the goal went beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.
Of the two games, the London club has prevailed with a 6-2 score-line, ultimately holding firm spot at the top of the table.
