Ghanaian midfield prodigy Godfred Donsah had been close to joining PSV Eindhoven, but West Ham reportedly stepped up a gear to sign the player from relegated Italian side Cagliari.
The Ghanaian talent is only 18 years old, but exploded on to the Serie A scene this season with two goals and an assist in 21 games.
With Cagliari’s relegation into Serie B, Donsah is for sale and director of sport Francesco Marroccu confirmed “we’ve received offers.”
PSV were the main interested party, but the Daily Mail suggests West Ham are pushing to win this bidding war instead.
They are not the only English club interested in Donsah, as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United are also tracking him.
