Rivers United Coach, Finidi George, is not giving up on his team winning the Nigeria Premier Football League despite being seven points adrift of Remo Stars with four matches to go, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.

Finidi stated that there are 12 points to fight for four, and with two home matches to play, his team can still win the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League.

Rivers United defeated Sunshine Stars 1-0 courtesy of Abba Sulaiman's only goal in the 83rd minute for Finidi’s men, but their hopes of reducing the gap between them and Remo to four points were dashed as the Ikenne side grabbed a vital 1-0 away win against Southwest rivals 3SC.

“Four games, that is 12 points, we still have two home matches. We are trying to pile pressure on Remo, we will not relent, and we will see how we can go away and get something out of the Kano Pillars game,” Finidi said after the game.

“You can see that on my face, I’m always positive.”

Rivers United play Kano Pillars next on Sunday, and their hopes of winning the title can only stay alive if they get a result in Kano against the Sai Masu Gida.
