Bayelsa United midfielder, Tekena Garando has stated the team have what it takes to cope without top scorer, Robert Mizo, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Robert Mizo who had scored 9 goals this season and 19 goals in 2023 left for Al Hilal SC Benghazi in Libya to continue his football career.

And since his departure there have been talks and insinuations that the Prosperity Boys will struggle in front of goal without the services of the talisman.

Bayelsa United, still in the euphoria of a 2-0 home win against Bendel Insurance play Gombe United this weekend and Tekena Garando who scored the first goal against Insurance, thinks the team will do fine without Mizo.

"Talking about Robert Mizo, he was a very big part of our team, but Mizo has left Bayelsa United to another team.

And there have been talks everywhere about Mizo leaving Bayelsa United and Bayelsa United can score goals. I think someone said something like that before our match against Insurance that now that Mizo has left how would they score, but we scored two goals and we kept a clean sheet. So, we know we have quality in the team to win matches even without Mizo here, we can win games and we are confident of that. And hopefully we can show that against Gombe United."

Gombe United will host Bayelsa United at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe on Sunday at 3pm as both sides seek a win to bring their season campaign back to life.
