WCQ: We can build on Spittler's achievement" - Nshimiyimana
As the team gets ready to play the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Rwanda's national team assistant Coach, Eric Nshimiyimana has declared that the team can build on the good position achieved by the former coach, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Torsten Frank Spittler had taken the team to an enviable height in the 2026 African World Cup Qualifiers, leading group C that has Nigeria, South Africa before leaving his role in December.
Coach Adel Amrouche who came in in March has a task to build on the German's achievement and his assistant insists the team can remain strong to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
"Spittler started well and team is in good position, I hope we can build on what he did by maintaining the team at the top of the World Cup Qualifiers," he stated.
Rwanda play three time African, Nigeria who have struggled so far with no win and will seek to maintain top spot as they play at home on Friday.
With only the group winners guaranteed a spot in the 2026 World Cup, every point matters. A win for Rwanda would keep them in pole position, while another setback for Nigeria would leave their World Cup hopes being in danger.
