Warnock seals Glatzel coup
Neil Warnock is thrilled that his patience has finally paid off after he managed to persuade Robert Glatzel to join Cardiff City from Heidenheim.
The 25-year-old forward, who joins the Bluebirds for an undisclosed transfer fee, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Cardiff City Stadium.
Glatzel scored 17 goals in 29 league and cup appearances for 2. Bundesliga side Heidenhiem last season.
He said: "I am very happy to be here, I can't wait to get to work, get to know the fans and start the season.
"I am a tall player and heading is a good attribute for me, but I can also play with the ball. I think I have good technique for my height, so will hopefully show the fans that and fit in well here."
Meanwhile, Warnock said: "I'm excited to capture Robert's signature. He's a player we've been chasing for over five weeks. It's been hard work to get it over the line, but I'm delighted to welcome him."
Earlier this week, Warnock completed the signing of the Northern Ireland international winger Gavin Whyte from Oxford United on a contract which will run until the summer of 2023.
Cardiff are 3/1 to be promoted from the Championship this season, following last term's relegation from the top-flight, while they are 11/8 to beat Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
