Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso made history by scoring the 1, 500th goal at the Africa Cup of Nations following his team’s 3-0 win over host Equatorial Guinea on Thursday.
The 24-year-old rattled in the second goal for the Black Stars with in-between goals from brothers Jordan and Andre Ayew to seal the team’s passage to the final.
Wakaso’s goal was the 1, 500th goal scored at the continental showpiece as it put the West Africans into the finals against neighbours Coe D’voire on Sunday.
The game was however marred by crowd trouble with the home fans hurling bottles and missiles at the Ghana bench and their supporters.
The game was held up for over 20 minutes with riot police moving over to restore calm.
