WAFCON 2022: Falcons Debut Excites Monday Gift
FC Robo of Lagos forward Monday Gift who made her debut for the Falcons in their 2-0 win against Botswana has expressed her joy, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.
The agile and versatile forward was initially omitted from the Super Falcons WAFCON squad but her form for Bayelsa United where she was loaned to during the Nigeria Women Football League super six earned her a place in the team.
One can arguably say she singlehandedly gift Bayelsa United the title as she scored in all 5 matches to finish the highest goal scorer.
After not featuring in the first game which the Super Falcons lost to South Africa, Monday Gift was introduced in the 2nd half of Nigeria's defeat of Botswana.
"It is a true blessing and honour to have made my dreamed WAFCON2022 debut with Nigeria," said Must Monday Gift.
"To have played a part in our first win of the tournament is special and a great moment for my budding career.
"Now, I'm focused on the task ahead to do Nigeria proud against Burundi," she concluded.
