Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have made Wa All Stars's attacking midfielder Maxwell Barko one of their major transfer targets for the upcoming 2015/16 season, according to reports in the local media.

The Phobians, who finished fourth in the just ended 2014/15 Ghana Premier League, have already wrapped up the signing of 2009 Ghana U20 winger Latif Salifu from Berekum Chelsea and are close to signing goalkeeper Stephen Adams from Aduana Stars and Richard Ofori from All Stars.

With six players released from midfield, the Phobians are busily augmenting their squad for the upcoming season and have penciled down the midfielder along with Ofori who could become a Phobian next week.

Hearts bigwigs are expected to meet with All Stars bankroller Kwesi Nyantakyi next week over the transfer of the pair which is expected to cost them around $60,000.

Barko played 26 times for All Stars this season in the Ghanaian top-flight and attracted the attention of Hearts during their Premier League clashes in the season.
