Australia international Robbie Kruse has signed up for a second spell with Melbourne Victory.

The 30-year-old is the first senior player signed in the off-season by new Victory coach Marco Kurz.

He spent two seasons with the club from 2009-2011, scoring 15 goals in 36 appearances and winning their young player of the year award twice.

Kruse had started his career with Brisbane Roar, but only made nine appearances across his final two campaigns with them and bagged just four goals overall for the Queensland side.

I have great memories playing with Victory and of the club as a whole.

He netted 11 goals in 18 games in his only full season with Victory, in 2010/11, and then moved to Germany to play for Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Apart from a four-game stint with Chinese side Liaoning Whowin two years ago, Kruse has played in Germany since then.

For the Socceroos he has won 75 caps and scored five goals, being part of the 2015 Asian Cup-winning side.

He said: "To have the opportunity to come back to the A-League and represent Victory again is really special. I have great memories playing with Victory and of the club as a whole."

Kurz said signing the attacker for the next two years was a big win for the club.

"We see in Robbie a player not only with great experience here in Australia and overseas but also someone that fits the culture of the club," he added.

At the same time as completing the signing of Kruse, Victory saw Australia international midfielder Terry Antonis leave to join K-League team Suwon Bluewings.

The 25-year-old made 53 appearances and five goals across all competitions.

Melbourne Victory are 5/1 to win the 2020 Grand Final. Victory are 16/5 to win the FFA Cup.
