Valencia have dismissed head coach Carlos Corberan only two months after extending his contract until 2028.

The decision was reported by Marca as the club sit bottom of the La Liga table with one point.

Oscar Sanchez has been placed in temporary charge. Valencia face Alaves on Tuesday before hosting Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Club director Ron Gourlay has also left his position, along with a number of his assistants.

Corberan took over at Valencia in December 2024 and managed the team in 72 official matches. Before joining the Spanish club, he had been in charge of Olympiacos, West Bromwich and several less widely known clubs in Cyprus and England.

His departure comes despite the recent agreement that was intended to keep him at Valencia until 2028.
