Philadelphia lead DC United by a point in the Eastern Conference standings, and the Montreal Impact by two, in a tightening race.

The Union are winless in their last three games in all competitions, falling to DC United in the United States Cup, drawing with the New England Revolution in league play and the getting beaten 4-2 by New York City FC last time out.

New York came from behind twice, each time through a penalty from Maximiliano Morález, before Valentín Castellanos gave the hosts the win with a couple of goals at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.

Over in the Western Conference the leaders, LAFC, are also in action as they travel to the Midwest to take on Sporting Kansas City. LAFC, 5/2 to win the MLS Cup, have a six-point advantage over the LA Galaxy in the standings with the Seattle Sounders a further two points adrift in third place.

Carlos Vela saw his scoring streak come to an end last time out against the Colorado Rapids and will be looking to get back on the scoresheet against the bottom team in the West.
