Victor Osimhen’s Galatasaray endured a 4-1 defeat away to AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs on Thursday, writes Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Osimhen did not feature in the encounter due to disciplinary reasons. Troy Parrott, Jordy Clasie, David Wolfe, and Sven Mijnans were on target for the Dutch side, while Roland Sallai netted Galatasaray’s only goal.
In Turkey, Bright Osayi-Samuel was in action as Fenerbahce cruised to a 3-0 victory against Anderlecht. The Nigerian defender started the match but was substituted at halftime.
Goals from Youssef En-Nesyri, Edin Džeko, and Dušan Tadi? secured the win for the Turkish giants.
