UD Tenerife president Sergio Batista has hailed Nigerian forward Gift Monday as a crucial part of the club's future, following her new three-year contract extension, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Falcons striker, has committed to the Canary Island side until 2027.

"We want to build a solid future by extending contracts of those players we consider important," Batista explained on the club's official website.

"Gift Monday is undoubtedly one of them. She's a young footballer with a tremendous future, impressive performances, and has seamlessly adapted to life on the island."

Batista described Monday's renewal as "one of the best pieces of news" for UD Tenerife's fans and season ticket holders.

The 22-year-old joined Tenerife from Nigerian club FC Robo in 2022 and has since become an integral part of the team.

With Monday leading the charge, UD Tenerife will aim to make a significant impact in the Iberdola league.
