Argentina Under-20 coach Humberto Grondona admits his side was 'surprised' by Ghana in their 3-2 heart-pumping defeat in their second group game on Tuesday.

The Ghanaians took a commanding 3-0 lead but a late surge from the South American champions meant tense finish as it ended 3-2 in Wellington.

And Argentine coach Humberto Grondona was impressed with the performance of the Africans. We don’t like to lose, nor are we used to it, but we’re still alive and we still have a chance in this tournament," he said

"Now we have to focus on the positives. It was good to see that we didn’t give up and managed to close the gap to 3-2 after going 3-0 down.

"I must admit that Ghana really surprised us, and now we’ve got to win the next match. The good thing is that we now know we’re in good physical condition and can keep playing at a high tempo even at the end of a game."

The Ghanaians require at least a draw against Panama in their final group game to advance to the next stage of the competition while both Argentina and Austria have it all to play for in the other fixture.
