With 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations starting in next month, the head coach of the Nigeria U-20 team, Ladan Bosso has placed on his team a high expectation.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are currently camped in Abuja for training with the coach expected to his final list for the tournament in Egypt by the end of the month.

The seven-time champions go in to the competition as the WAFU B champion and will face hosts Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal in the group stage of the competition.

The U-20 AFCON will serve as the qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup hosted by Indonesia later in the year.

“We won the WAFU qualifiers in Niger Republic and it’s my wish that we go to the World Cup in Indonesia as the champions of Africa,” Bosso told reporters in Abuja as quoted by Daily Post.

“That aside, I want to make amends for the 2007 not-pleasant performance of the Flying Eagles. I want to improve on it by going all the way “

The age grade competition will start February 19 to March 11.
