Super Eagles captain, William Troost-ekong feature for PAOK on Wednesday as they kickoff their pre-season campaign with 2-1 win against AEK Larnaca, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

Troost-Ekong’s last appearance for both club and country dates back to February 11, 2024, in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final against Ivory Coast.

He played through the pain barrier during the tournament in Ivory Coast and required surgery after returning to Europe following the Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named as Player of the Tournament.

However, the veteran defender return to the pitch on Wednesday as they defeated AEK Larnaca 2-1 thanks to goals from Stefan Schwab and Thomas Murg.

Ekong started the game at the heart of PAOK's defense alongside Ioannis Michailidis, both holding the attackers of  AEK Larnaca at bay in the first half before conceding in the 54th minutes.

PAOK will on Saturday face Hibernian at the Sportpark Sporting Swolgen Tienray, Netherlands, a game Ekong is expected to feature as he continues his full recovery processes.
