Former French and Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has called on the Gunners to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Arsenal, in quest of a new striker have tried signing RB Leipzig forward, Benjamin Sesko but the last London club have failed in the area of financial agreement.

The Nigerian international on the hand has a €130m release clause in his contract, which could also pose a challenge for interested clubs.

However, Petit is convinced that Osimhen's qualities would make a significant difference for Arsenal.

"I would love to see a player like Osimhen as a striker," Petit told talkSPORT. "He has the ability to hold off defenders, think differently in terms of attacking spaces, and is a big threat on set pieces. He also has a physical presence and can speak the same football language as Arsenal."

Petit has been impressed by Osimhen's skills since his time at Lille and believes he would be a perfect fit for the Gunners. "The first thing Arsenal need is a striker, and I don't know if they'll buy him, but Osimhen would be an excellent choice," he added.

Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title last season, and Osimhen is believed, would be the perfect fit.
