Forward Cenk Tosun is optimistic he won't miss much of Everton's pre-season as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

The striker was forced to sit out both of Turkey's Euro 2020 qualifiers against France and Iceland with the problem and there were concerns Tosun could miss pre-season with the Toffees.

However Tosun, who is looking to kick-start his career at Goodison Park after a slow start to life on Merseyside, feels that he is recovering well from his knee issue and hopes to back playing soon.

He told Bein Sports: "It was a good holiday season with my friends, family. But now, it's time to work hard. I've already started indoor workouts. My injury is getting better and better. I will start working in the middle of July."

Speculation on the future of the Turkish forward has also dried up following links to with both Besiktas and Fenerbahce in his homeland, while German outfit Borussia Dortmund were also mentioned in connection with the 28-year-old.

Everton are 7/2 to finish in the top six in the Premier League under manager Marco Silva, while the Toffees are 2/1 to finish in the bottom half of the table.
