Brisbane Roar have sold leading scorer Adam Taggart, less than a year after he joined them from Perth Glory.

The club haven't disclosed where the former Australia international is heading, but reports say he's off to Korean side Suwon Bluewings.

Taggart, who is second in the A-League's Golden Boot standings with 11 goals, is reported to have had a clause in his Brisbane deal allowing him to leave if John Aloisi was no longer the coach.

Aloisi resigned in December and Taggart, who had signed a three-year deal when he moved from Perth, is understood to have been available on a cut-price deal.

I'm confident that the club can turn things around and have more success in the future.

Adam Taggart

The 25-year-old is moving on with Brisbane almost certain to miss out on the A-League Finals Series.

While his former club the Glory are well clear at the top of the table, the Roar are next to bottom with just 12 points from 18 games.

Taggart said: "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the club, players, coaches and fans for their support during my time at BRFC. I'm confident that the club can turn things around and have more success in the future."

Brisbane chief executive David Pourre said: "Adam has been a good servant for Brisbane Roar since his arrival and we wish him well with the next step in his career."

The departure of Taggart comes just ahead of the Roar's meeting with Perth.

Interim coach Darren Davies is without Spanish midfielder Alex Lopez, who picked up up his fifth booking of the season in the 2-1 win over Sydney FC last time out.

Keeper Jamie Young is also suspended and Luke DeVere (knee) in doubt, while defender Jack Hingert will miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee against the Sky Blues.

The Roar are 15/2 to win their next game against Perth Glory, who are 3/10 with the draw 9/2.
