Nigerian forward, Tolu Arokodare, faced a barrage of racist abuse online after failing to convert a penalty during KRC Genk's recent clash against Club Brugge, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The incident occurred in the 18th minute of the match, where Arokodare missed an opportunity to put Genk in the lead.

Despite his efforts, Club Brugge emerged victorious with a 3-0 win, propelled by Hugo Vetlesen's hat-trick.

The striker was subjected to vitriolic attacks on social media by some disgruntled fans following the game.

Arokodare, who boasts has 8 goals and two assists in 27 league matches  this season this season, joined the team last summer.
