Nigeria power striker, Tolu Arokodare was on song as KRC Genk overpowered Gent 2-0 in matchday 12 of the 2024/25 Belgian Pro-League clash played on Sunday evening, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.

In the highly intense game, Tolu opened the scoring for Genk a minute after the restart before Jarne Steuckers' perfect conversion from the spot sealed the win for the visitors at the Ghelamco Arena.

The goal propelled Tolu Akorede to the top of the scorer's chat of the 2024/25 Belgian Pro-League with 8 goals after 12 games played. The win helped KRC Genk extend its lead to 5 points on top of the log.

Tolu Akorede's form will definitely be a thing of concern for Super Eagles interim, Egueavon who will be looking for a place in his next call-up for the in-form Nigerian striker.

Contrary to expectations the last time, Tolu Akorde was excluded from the list that faced Lybia in Uyo with Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi invited instead despite their deep form since the start of the season.
