Tolu Arokodare bags goal & assist in KRC Genk’s hard-earned victory
Nigeria's Tolu Arokodare propelled KRC Genk to victory over 9-man Sint-Truidense VV in the Belgian Professional Football League on Sunday, Nigeriasocceenet.com reports.
He scored one goal and assisted another to help his side win the Limburg derby 3-2 against the Canaries who have not lost in 7 matches at the Cegeka Arena.
Arokodare opened the score for Genk in the 18th minute of the game after Shogo Taniguchi had been given the marching orders after 15 minutes of action.
Jarne Steuckers gave the host a 2-goal lead in the 31st minute, but the lead was cut short by Adriano Bertaccini 3 minutes later.
Zaka El Ouahdi scored at the end of the first phase to end the half 3-1 in favor of the host.
Bertaccini pulled one back for STVV after 9 minutes played in the second half, but it could not change the result as Genk held on to win even as STVV ended the tie with another red card shown to Billal Brahimi 5 minutes after additional time.
Tolu Arokodare who played for 85 minutes has now scored 7 goals and has provided 1 assist in 11 matches.
