It has been a torrid season for Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi, who made his comeback following one year on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. Over the course of the campaign, he has had cameo appearances as he looks to come back to full fitness,s and yesterday, his hard work paid off, getting on the scoresheet as they secured Champions League preliminary play-off, finishing fourth on the log, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Returning to the pitch after a prolonged absence due to a severe ACL injury to his left knee, Terem Moffi made a memorable impact off the bench, netting the fifth goal for his team.

The striker showcased his class with a penetrating run, capitalizing on an exquisite through ball delivered by Sofiane Diop. He dribbled past the opposition and scored a composed finish into the unguarded net in the 82nd minute, sealing a 5-0 scoreline. This strike marked Moffi's first goal since his return to action on March 29th, and he nearly added a second in stoppage time, only to be thwarted by a save from goalkeeper Bizot.

"Everyone who works at the club, all the coaches – even if there will be some changes – everyone worked well, including the players, obviously, and it’s them that we should congratulate, illustrated by Terem Moffi and his goal. It’s symbolic because we lost players to serious injury, and lost some others late in the campaign. It was a really difficult season. To have finished fourth, with everything we’ve had to deal with, is very strong", Franck Haise stated in his assessment.
