Tella voices frustration over limited playing time at Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella has expressed his frustration over his limited playing time at the Bundesliga champions, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Despite scoring the winning goal in Leverkusen's DFB Pokal victory over Bayern Munich on Tuesday night, Tella has mostly been used as a substitute by coach Xabi Alonso this season.
The Nigerian international, who joined Leverkusen from Burnley, came off the bench in the 61st minute against Bayern Munich and scored the winner eight minutes later.
However, Tella's joy at scoring the decisive goal was tempered by his frustration at not being a regular starter for Leverkusen.
"I'll be honest, it's been a really frustrating start to the season," Tella said after the game.
"But I can't argue with the coach [Xabi Alonso], he knows what's best for the team."
Tella's comments will raise questions about his long-term future at Leverkusen, but for now, he remains committed to fighting for his place in the team.
