Super Falcons seal 2026 WAFCON ticket
Nigeria's Women National Team, the Super Falcons, have qualified for the Women's African Cup of Nations in Morocco, NigeriaSoccernet.com reports.
The Falcons triumphed over Benin Republic after a 1-1 draw at the MKO Abiola Sport Arena to win 3-1 on aggregate.
The 10-time African champions took the lead after twelve minutes of play through defender Ashleigh Plumptre.
A perfect cross from a corner kick by Esther Okoronkwo was headed in by the Al-Ittihad Women defender for her first-ever goal for the Super Falcons.
However, in the 61st minute, Yasminath Djibril scored the equaliser for Benin Republic off a brilliant freekick as the two sides shared the spoils.
Nigeria will now set its sights on achieving an eleventh title following its triumph the last time in Morocco next year.
