Nigeria head coach, Sunday Oliseh has been flown to Belgium for urgent medical treatment after his health condition worsened on Thursday.

The seriously ill Super Eagles boss was flown to his country of residence of Belgium for treatment after his failing health turned worse after lunch earlier in the day.

Fear gripped the Super Eagles camp on Thursday and team and external doctors managed to stabilize his condition before he was taken to Port Harcourt airport en route Belgium.

The former international became dizzy and weak after lunch today, and had to be flown abroad this evening through the Port Harcourt Airport.

“Coach Sunday Oliseh has returned to Belgium to continue treatment after being advised by Eagles medics," a statement on the official Nigeria Football Federation Twitter handle read.

“He became dizzy and weak after lunch on Thursday and he travels abroad tonight through the Port Harcourt Airport.”

Reports had it that Oliseh had been down with flu before the first leg African Nations Championship qualifying clash with Burkina Faso in Port Harcourt last week.

The Nigeria Football Federation was briefed about the development before okaying the decision for him to be flown to Belgium for treatment. With this development, Oliseh will miss the second leg of the CHAN qualifier against Burkina Faso on Sunday.
