Sunderland opt out of deal to sign Nigerian forward Obasi

EPL side Sunderland have opted out of signing Nigeria forward Chinedu Obasi because he could not prove his fitness.
Obasi, who is a free agent after he was released by German Bundesliga side Schalke 04, has been training with Sunderland with a the hope of bagging a deal.
According to Mailonline, Sunderland have passed on a chance to sign Obasi after he failed to prove his fitness while they need a player who could walk straight into the team.
The Nigeria international, who holds a German passport, will now seek other options.
