Stephen Appiah: Global football icons to storm Ghana for ex-Stars skipper’s farewell game in June

World football icons Lilian Thuram, Pavel Nedved and Roberto Baggio are all expected to troop into Ghana to play in Stephen Appiah’s farewell game in June.
The ex-Ghana skipper pulled the plugs on an illustrious playing career running over two decades earlier this month.
Appiah, is an iconic figure in Ghanaian football and is seen as that inspirational leader who united a talented Black Stars side to qualify for the world cup in 2006.
Having played for some of Europe’s elites clubs including Juventus and Fenerbahce some of the world famous football figures have given their nod to play in Appiah farewell game later this year.
Former club mate at Brescia Roberto Baggio and current Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola are all expected to play in that game.
Appiah has hinted of going into coaching after finally announcing his retirement from football.
