Rivers United's technical adviser, Stanley Eguma, has lauded his team's resilience following their hard-earned triumph over Katsina United, describing it as a "very difficult.” Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers secured a 2-0 victory against the Chanji Boys in their rescheduled matchday 28 encounter on Thursday, with Deputy Echeta and Kazie Enyinnaya finding the net for Rivers United in both halves.

Eguma attributed the success to a strategic adjustment, highlighting the challenge posed by Katsina United's defensive setup: "This game was difficult. The Katsina United team played a parked midfield and defence that was difficult to break."

Expressing satisfaction with his players' efforts, Eguma revealed the tactical adaptation that proved pivotal in unlocking the opposition defense: "My players did their best, we had to change tactics for us to be able to break, getting one goal in the first half and in the second half we got the second goal."

Acknowledging the arduous nature of the encounter, Eguma emphasized the resilience displayed by his team: "It was not an easy game. It was a really difficult game for us."

With 40 points amassed from 26 games, Rivers United now shift their focus to the upcoming clash against Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on Monday, aiming to maintain their momentum in the campaign.
