Rivers United manager, Stanley Eguma revealed is disappointment after his side got bundled out of the CAF Confederations Cup but rejoiced over saving the face of the country, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Pride of Rivers were knocked of the quarter final of the competition after losing 2-0 on aggregate to Young Africans of Tanzania.

The south-south club was the only Nigeria country to make it to the group stage of any of the two African club competitions.

This was able to add more point for the country to keep having two representatives each in the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup.

“It’s disappointing to crash out of the competition; if we had a better game in the first leg, it would have been a different situation in the reverse fixture,” Egunma told a press conference as per Daily Post.

“One good thing is that we were able to secure the four slots for Nigeria in the continent, because qualifying to the group phase and going beyond to the quarterfinal stage has secured Nigeria’s slots in the continent”.

The attention for the coach now are the three outstanding games in the domestic league and Federation Cup against Enyimba later today.
