Vincent Janssen's unhappy three-year spell with Tottenham is over after the Dutch striker agreed a deal to join the Mexican club CF Monterrey.

The 25-year-old forward, who joined Spurs from AZ Alkmaar for £17million in July 2016, only started seven Premier League games for the club.

He was sent out on loan to Fenerbahce for the 2017/18 campaign but only featured in three matches for Mauricio Pochettino's team last season on his return from Turkey.

"We have reached agreement with Mexican side CF Monterrey for the transfer of Vincent Janssen," Spurs said in a statement on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Heung-min Son believes he will be a better player this season after finally having a few weeks off this summer.

The South Korea international represented his country at the World Cup, Asian Games and Asian Cup last season as well as helping Spurs reach the Champions League final and clinch a top-four spot in the Premier League. Spurs are 1/2 to finish in the top four again this term and 11/8 to earn over 75 points in 2019/20.

Son said: "It's been a great summer. I don't normally have any time to rest but this summer I rested well. I had a small operation to take the plate out of my arm [following a fracture in June 2017]. So it was very good time to relax and build for the season.

"I am more ready than last season and I want to be better than last season. I'm thinking positive, I will bring my best performance to help this team."
