Spain set up Women’s Under-20 World Cup final after overcoming Italy

Spain reached the final of the 2026 Women’s Under-20 World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Italy in ?odz on Wednesday.

The result continued La Rojita’s impressive run in the tournament and secured a third final appearance in the past four editions.

David Aznar’s side controlled the semi-final from the start, creating 14 attempts in the first half while Italy managed only one. Spain’s pressure finally produced an opening goal in the 40th minute when Italy defender Elena Belli turned a deflected cross from Azzurra Gallo into her own net.

Spain extended their advantage 11 minutes after the interval. Pau Comendador, the tournament’s leading scorer, found the net for the sixth time in Poland after meeting an excellent cross from Daniela Agote.

Another Spain goal was later ruled out for handball, but the decision did not prevent La Rojita from protecting their lead and completing a convincing victory.

Spain will face either the Republica de Corea del Norte or Colombia in Sunday’s final, which is scheduled for 27 September.
