After exiting from two cup competitions in less than five days, Rivers United turn to their attention to defending the Nigeria Professional Football League three day after losing the Federation Cup Round of 64 tie against Enyimba, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Rivers United coach, Stanley Eguma sees the little preparation time as a major constraint toward his team’s performance in the Sunday’s game against Bayelsa United in the South-South derby.

Eguma in same breath, however, stressed that his players know the importance of the game and are ready to give their all.

“It’s difficult as we had just a day to prepare for the game,” he told the club’s media.

“It’s a South South derby, we know what to expect from them and how we can also play.

“It’s important we bounce back to winning ways after the defeat to Enyimba in the Federation Cup.”

Rivers United will host Bayelsa United today at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
