Solanke eager to kick on
Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is relishing the start of the new Premier League season and is hoping for a big campaign with the south coast outfit.
The former Liverpool forward signed for the Cherries permanently in January and first wore the number 29 shirt for manager Eddie Howe's team.
Solanke has now taken over the vacant number nine shirt for the upcoming season and the 21-year-old is delighted with the development as he hopes for a positive campaign to come for the Cherries.
"Having been a striker all my life, my favourite number is the number nine," he told the club's website.
"Growing up, watching great players like R9 (Ronaldo), Ibrahimovic and Benzema to name a few, you always saw top players in that number so I'm delighted to get it."
Following a full pre-season, Solanke says he's ready to hit the ground running when Howe's side kick off their new season with a home game on 10th August against Sheffield United.
Solanke added: "I'm really looking forward to the start of the season, I arrived midway through last season so it's a fresh start for myself and everyone else in the squad.
"With the new number, hopefully I can score goals and make an impact, we're looking forward to that first game."
Bournemouth are 17/20 to win, 14/5 to draw and 14/5 to lose to the Blades next month.
