Sky Blues close gap on leaders
Loan striker Reza Ghoochannejhad scored his first Sydney FC goal to help secure a 2-0 win over Adelaide United at Leichhardt Oval.
The Iranian fired home after 15 minutes to convert a move of one-touch football and put the Sky Blues in front.
They held that advantage until the final minute of injury time when young substitute Cameron Devlin secured the three points.
Steve Corica's side moved to within five points of A-League leaders Perth Glory with what was their seventh home win in eight.
We still have a long way to go and we're at 43 per cent of where we can be.

Adelaide keeper Paul Izzo had already made a save from Ghoochannejhad, who joined from Cypriot club APOEL during the transfer window, when the 31-year-old broke the deadlock.
He was only denied a second goal midway through the first half when Izzo got the slightest of touches to tip his powerful shot onto the post.
Milos Ninkovic had seen his attempted chip just clear the crossbar earlier on, as the hosts dominated.
United came back into it in the final six minutes of the half, first when right back Ryan Strain dragged a shot wide.
George Blackwood rounded keeper Andrew Redmayne on an angle in first-half injury time but Alex Wilkinson was able to head away from the line.
The Sky Blues took advantage of United pushing extra men forward late on in search of an equaliser, with Brandon O'Neill springing the defence to set up Devlin for his first goal for the club.
Corica said: "I'm very proud of the boys, they worked very hard. I think that was our best first half performance from an attacking point of view.
"The second half showed the other half of it, defending really well and grabbing a late goal at the end there. We still have a long way to go and we're at 43 per cent of where we can be."
Sydney FC are 6/1 to win the Grand Final.
Sydney FC's Adam le Fondre is 6/4 to be the A-League top scorer.
