The future of Stanley Nwabali has come under fresh scrutiny following confirmation that Simba Sports Club is monitoring his situation ahead of a possible move, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles shot-stopper has been without a club since leaving Chippa United in February, attracting interest from multiple clubs across Africa due to his free-agent status.

East African football agent Edgah Mitemah revealed that Simba have already made enquiries about the 28-year-old, identifying him as a potential reinforcement in goal.

“Yes, I am aware Simba are looking to sign a goalkeeper, and Nwabali is one of those who has come on their radar at the moment,” Mitemah told Footy-Africa.

He added that the Nigerian’s profile makes him an appealing option for clubs in the region, although his departure from Chippa United remains a subject of discussion.

Competition for his signature is also expected, with Azam FC and Kaizer Chiefs reportedly keeping tabs on the situation.

“There are other clubs like Azam FC who might rival Simba for the goalkeeper, while I am also aware of Kaizer Chiefs’ admiration for him. They have been tracking him for some time now,” Mitemah added.

Nwabali has been training individually since his exit from Chippa United and is yet to secure a new club, despite previous links to teams in Saudi Arabia and the South African top flight.

The goalkeeper rose to prominence after his impressive displays for the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria secured a third-place finish.

With several clubs now in the race and his availability easing negotiations, the coming days are expected to be decisive in determining the next step in Nwabali’s career.
