Shaun October believes Hearts can reach the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup against the odds.

The Ghanaians have a real game on their hands ahead of their reverse fixture against Esperance on Saturday.

The Phobians must produce a magical display to qualify as they trail by a staggering 4-0 deficit from the first leg.

The odds are heavily stacked against the former African champions but  South Africa import Shaun October claims confidence is surprisingly high going into a game against one of the finest sides on the continent.

"We just don't want to win but qualify to the group phase of the competition," he said

"It's going to be a difficult task but it's surmountable. We have to keep our eyes on the ball and score the needed goals.

"Many of our fans have doubts which is understandable considering the goal margin. But this is football and anything can happen.

"Confidence is high and we want to make history with this great club."

Hearts are in financial crisis as players threatened to resign en-block over unpaid salaries running into several months.
