Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta has confirmed that Nigerian players Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho have returned to the club in perfect condition after their harrowing airport experience in Libya, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

"Very unpleasant. Professional players having to spend so much time in an airport is something that cannot happen," Pimienta said.

"The federations have to be aware of these situations. Spending a day almost without food and without sleep is not acceptable. Luckily, they have arrived in perfect condition."

Ejuke and Iheanacho were part of Nigeria's squad held hostage at a Libyan airport for several hours, denied access to basic necessities like water and food.

The incident led to Nigeria's withdrawal from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Libya.

Sevilla now shifts focus to their upcoming match against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Sunday, seeking to end a 21-year winless streak at the venue.
