Sevilla edge past Valencia to climb third in Primera

Sevilla secured a narrow home victory over Valencia on Friday as the fifth round of the Primera got under way.

The hosts went into the match as favourites but struggled to turn their chances into goals. Despite their efforts to break the deadlock, Sevilla were unable to find a breakthrough during the opening half.

They eventually claimed all three points when Juan Iglesias scored the decisive goal in the 81st minute.

The result takes Sevilla to 10 points and third place in the Primera table. Valencia remain on one point and are bottom of the standings in 20th place.
