After Cruz Azul secured the title on Sunday, there are now several players whose contracts will be up in the upcoming weeks, and La Maquina's top brass will have to make some tough choices on who to retain and who to let go.

The most important contract that will expire is certainly that of experienced goalkeeper and captain Jesus Corona, who, at 40 years of age, seems to be one of the prime candidates to leave the club, given how there are already rumors of a Chivas interest and los cementeros have not held any talks about a renewal with Corona.

Another experienced veteran whose situation is similar to that of Corona is Pablo Aguilar. The 34-year old Paraguayan has not been approached about a new contract, and could leave on a free transfer.

Joaquin Martinez, Adrian Alderete and Elias Hernandez all seemed headed out the door, as the club has reportedly no intention of extending their contracts mainly due to age concerns.
