Saturday’s Serie A matches will go ahead as planned according to the FIGC as the league continues to deal with the fallout from the Inter-Napoli match.

The Nerazzurri claimed a late 1-0 victory thanks to a Lautaro Martinez strike, but matters on the field were overshadowed by ugly scenes off it.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly was subjected to racist abuse from parts of the Giuseppe Meazza, an incident that saw Inter hit with a two-match stadium ban.

Outside the stadium, Inter fan Daniele Belardinelli was hit by a van about an hour before kick-off.

The 35-year-old from Varese eventually succumbed to his injuries, while four other fans were stabbed outside the Giuseppe Meazza as well.

All of these incidents have marred the midweek match day, and there were talks that Saturday’s matches would be postponed.

However, FIGC Presdient Gabriele Gravina has confirmed matches will go ahead as scheduled.

“Football will be played on Saturday,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Games will go ahead as planned. The League won’t stop.”
