Napoli striker Victor Osimhen was caught sobbing after his team failed to secure the league Scudetto following their 1-1 draw against Salernitana, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Following Lazio’s 3-1 loss to Inter, Napoli needed the win to confirm their first title in 33 years when Diego Maradona led them to a historic second Scudetto.

However, Mathías Olivera’s strike in the 62nd minute was canceled by Boulaye Dia, 10 minutes to the end of the game

Whilst the draw doesn’t impact Napoli’s eventual Scudetto success, it does delay their party until next week at the earliest, something felt by Osimhen more than anyone else.

The Nigerian forward was at fault for Dia’s equaliser, allowing the Senegalese striker to slip past him into the penalty area before he smashed the ball into the back of the net, and he was clearly furious as Salernitana celebrated around him.

When the full-time whistle came, Footballitalia claimed Osimhen was visibly emotional, crying and covering his face on the pitch.
