Nigeria striker Gift Orban has emerged as a transfer target for newly promoted Serie A side Venezia FC ahead of the summer transfer window, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Orban spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Hellas Verona from Bundesliga outfit TSG Hoffenheim, where he enjoyed a productive campaign despite the club's struggles.

The 23-year-old registered seven goals and three assists in 28 Serie A appearances for Verona.

However, the Yellow and Blues opted not to activate the clause that would have made his stay permanent following their relegation after a 19th-place finish in the league.

According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Venezia are now considering a move for the Nigerian forward as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Winged Lions secured an immediate return to the Italian top flight after winning the Serie B title, just one year after suffering relegation from Serie A.

Club officials are keen to reinforce the squad sufficiently to avoid another quick return to the second division, with Orban viewed as a player capable of adding pace, goals and attacking dynamism.

The former Olympique Lyonnais striker joined Hoffenheim in January 2025 and made an immediate impact in Germany, scoring four goals in 13 league appearances for the Bundesliga side.

Despite his encouraging performances in both Germany and Italy, Hoffenheim appear open to discussions should a suitable offer arrive, with reports suggesting the club could demand around €9 million for his services.

With the transfer window gathering momentum, more clubs are expected to monitor Orban's situation, but Venezia are currently among the sides showing the strongest interest in securing the Nigerian's signature.
