Stefano Pioli, the manager of AC Milan, has issued a call for Samuel Chukwueze to elevate his performance, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Chukwueze made the switch to the San Siro from Spanish side Villarreal last summer. Despite high hopes, the Nigerian international has faced challenges in leaving a mark with the former European champions.

Having notched up 15 league appearances for AC Milan, the 24-year-old is yet to find the back of the net in Serie A. However, he has contributed two goals and an assist in the UEFA Champions League.

Pioli drew a parallel between Chukwueze and USA winger Christian Pulisic, both of whom joined the club in the same transfer window.

"Pulisic and Chukwueze have the same characteristics," Pioli remarked on the club's official website. "Pulisic scores goals, assists, and works. Chukwueze has to score goals, he has to get assists, and has to work."
