Senegal take a half-time lead against Comoros in Marseille, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring the opening goal in their FIFA international fixture.

Both sides began with the ambition of securing victory, and the match quickly developed an attacking rhythm. Senegal used their collective strength and sharp passing to play through the Comoros defence, while the Cœlacanthes responded with a compact defensive structure to contain the Lions of Teranga.

Senegal’s pace eventually created the breakthrough. A three-man move involving Pape Matar Sarr, Ibrahim Mbaye and Iliman Ndiaye ended with the Manchester City forward finding the net.

The tempo later dropped as Senegal concentrated on protecting their advantage and looking for opportunities to catch Comoros’ organised defence off guard. However, neither side added to the score before the interval.
